The Taxation Liaison Committee's mission is to establish and maintain relationships with federal and state tax agencies in order to impact tax policy and administration through thought leadership and engagement. Committee chair Robbin Caruso attends the IRS Communications & Liaison National Public Liaison and shares information that is presented at those meetings. She also represents the Academy on a joint IRS/Tax Professional Working Group to strengthen national-level engagement with the tax professional community and improve the effectiveness of the monthly IRS Practitioner Meetings.

New Features in Tax Pro Account (February 2026): The Internal Revenue Service recently announced a new expansion of the Tax Pro Account to help tax-professional businesses manage authorizations! Key new functionality allows designated business representatives to:
- Manage business CAF access, including specifying which employees are authorized to act under the business CAF.
- Link the business CAF number to the company’s Employer Identification Number through their Tax Pro Account.
- View taxpayer information associated with the business CAF within the scope of active authorizations.
- View and withdraw active authorizations on behalf of the tax professional business.
