Academy Committees

The Academy relies on the service of volunteers to provide member and public education, operational oversight, and benefits. Most committees meet monthly via Zoom. Committee members are encouraged to attend the Annual Meeting & Education Conference in June, where in-person meetings can also take place. Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment and retention campaigns, ensuring Academy members have avenues for engagement with the association, and identifying member benefits and services. The committee chair is appointed by the Academy president; all members are welcome to participate as committee members.

Licensing & Education

The Licensing and Education Committee addresses the pipeline crisis by developing and implementing materials, resources, and campaigns to promote dual certification. The committee chair is appointed by the Academy president; all members are welcome to participate as committee members.

Outreach & Development Committee

The Outreach Committee is responsible for coordinating with third parties, educating the public about the unique characteristics of Attorney-CPAs, seeking opportunities to highlight Attorney-CPA members, and developing partnerships with others that can benefit the members and mission of the Academy. The committee chair is appointed by the Academy president; all members are welcome to participate as committee members.

Meetings and Education Committee

The Meetings and Education Committee oversees the meetings of the Academy and makes arrangements for the Academy’s meetings and education programs. Local chairs help plan and executive the Annual Meeting & Education Conference and Regional Meetings. The committee chair is appointed by the Academy president; all members are welcome to participate as committee members.

Chapter & Regional Development Committee

The Chapter & Regional Development Committee assists in the formation and operation of state and local chapters of the Academy. It also assists in arranging and operating Regional Meetings. The committee chair is appointed by the Academy president; all members are welcome to participate as committee members.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for reviewing the Academy’s financials, developing the Academy budget, monitoring the activities and liaising with the association’s investment advisor, and monitoring the overall financial health of the organization. The committee chair and committee members are appointed by the Academy president.

Dual Rights Committee

The Dual Rights Committee reviews complaints and submits proposals to the Board of Directors regarding Academy policies that might affect the members of this Academy in connection with their maintaining licenses as attorneys and/or certified public accountants. The committee chair and committee members are appointed by the Academy president. 

Members Education Fund Committee

The Members Education Fund Committee receives and reviews funding requests and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee regarding how funds from the Members Education Fund should be spent. The fund was established as a vehicle for members to make contributions designated for educational purposes. The committee chair and committee members are appointed by the Academy president.
